Central Service Technician – Sylmar, CA – $32/hr

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Central Service Technician to work in a hospital setting located in Sylmar, CA. The Central Service Tech needs a minimum of one (1) year of practical experience as a CST responsible for the overall cleaning, decontamination, assembly, packaging, and dispensing of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies needed for surgical procedures in surgery and related departments such as operating room, procedural areas, and outpatient clinics. CSTs will also be responsible for disinfecting IV and feeding pumps, assembling and restocking crash carts, and distributing supplies to patients.

Pay Rate: $32/hr

Location: Sylmar, CA

Shift: Days, Weekends and Holidays | 10hr shifts | per diem | Minimum of 2 shifts per week or as needed

Job Duties

CSTs will be responsible for the overall cleaning, decontamination, sterilization, case cart pulling, assembly, packaging, restocking supplies, and dispensing of surgical instruments, equipment and supplies needed for surgical procedures in surgery and related departments such as Operating Rooms, Procedural Areas, Inpatient Units, Clinic Units, and Emergency Department.

• Ensure that profiles are submitted only for CSTs who are fully committed to working a Per Diem assignment.
• Request for assignment time-off, such as 1 or 2 days, will be at the discretion of the scheduling Nurse Manager and not guaranteed.

Requirements

Option I: Six months' experience cleaning, assembling, packaging and sterilizing medical surgical and nursing supplies, instruments and equipment or assisting in ordering, stocking and distributing such supplies- OR - Option II: Completion of a central services technician course in an accredited vocational school or community college.**

PHYSICAL CLASS III- Moderate: Includes standing or walking most of the time, with bending, stooping, squatting, twisti, and reaching; includes working on irregular surfaces, occasionally lifting objects weighing over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds.
